While in India I visited an orphanage where the children are unwanted by their own families due to illness or financial issues. These children are blind, handicapped, mentally retarded, and some are even albino which in India is frowned upon. The children are all different ages. I even met an older woman who was given up at a very young age and is now trying to take care of the younger children at the home. This one little boy was blind and severely burned on the top of his head. I really could not believe these children have no family or anything. It is very sad.
In the home that I visited there was only one room that was so dirty and had no one to clean. There was one bed that all the children have to share. There is no one to take care of these children. Every so often the young girls from the town come over to play and feed them. These kids really need a full time keeper!!! I really want to start a fund so I can help this orphanage get computers and food and things to help these children live the lives they deserve.
